Vocational Visit: On Thurs 6 October, 40 members and wives visited the new Cancer Centre at the Lismore Base Hospital, being given, by groups, a guided tour by the Centre Manager, Richard Jux. We viewed the 2.5M Linear Accelerator which provides radiation treatment for patients with breast or prostate cancer. A second Linear Accelerator will be installed within the next year or so. Other areas of the Centre visited included the Chemotherapy Ward; the CT Scanner; the Skin Cancer machine and the video conferencing theatre. A very impressive centre of which Lismore can be proud. A BBQ tea was provided on the Terrace by Club members Russ Cassidy, Ray Chilton, Ray Seiffert and Bruce Young.
